Oh how cool Lori, I might be going to the mass at St. Patrick's. Maybe I will see you there.

I am back from the parade. Boy, it was hot! 85 degrees farenheit. It was definitely not like a crisp fall day. One funny thing is that the crowd mistook our Paduli of Benevento for Padula of Salerno. Many people were cheering and yelling the names of their Salerno comunes to us. We just smiled and waved. The parade paused for musical performances and we were stalled on the red carpet right in front of the stage for an Italian pop singer, Zucchero. I have no clue who he is. He walked right past us when he left the stage and all of a sudden a crowd of people surrounded him asking for pictures, etc...There was a real frenzy. We probably looked really cool not bothering him. LOL.

OMG..you saw if? I love the man (although I hear he isn't a very nice person! I think I even mentioned him in the music section. My most favourite Italian singer...very popular in the late 80's and early 90's.
A link to his music..

He's played with many great American singers as well..Paul Young, Eric Clapton, Bono, Pavarotti and more. Awesome singer!! Did you take any pictures of you or him? If you did, please post them.

As soon as I get my pics, I will post them. I have one of him, probably not great, because I was in the line of marchers and took it of the stage where he was performing. I was pretty close, but it was a disposable camera. Now I really feel like a dweeb because our group was next to him alone for about 30 seconds before the crowd gathered around him. We just smiled. I almost said "good set" or something, but I did not know if he spoke English so I kept my mouth shut. I just looked him up in Wikipedia. Yep, he seems quite famous. LOL.

I can't wait to see it..good or bad..he really is an amazing performer. And as I said, my all time favourite. Reminds me of my second trip to Italy...good memories.

Ah, I wish I would have appreciated it more. There were only about 20 people in front of the stage, probably VIPs. I could have walked right over to the front of the stage since I wasn't holding a banner. However, I did dance a little to Z's music with my DH, who could not break formation because he was holding Old Glory. LOL.
