I have just had a conversation with a lovely Italian gentleman today who has written several books about his life, beginning when he came over here with his parents from Italy in , how life was then etc. He was born in Italy about 1920
Joe Pieri has written 8 books the two I have recently bought are 'The Scots-Italians' and 'River of Memories' both fascinating reading.
He was telling me about a new Museum that has been opened in Lucca last
year - Museo dell'emagrazione when he was there he saw a book in the museum that contained old genuine photographs of many people who had left Italy late 1800/early 1900s which gave lots of information how people dressed travelled etc at that time but he wasnt sure if the book could be bought on line or if it was only available for sale in the museum. I've tried checking the internet to find the museum but so far no information about the book and unfortunately I dont know the title of the book.
Just wondered if anyone out there could help
Emmy

Hi Emmy,
I think this could be the book you're talking about:
www.liberonweb.com/asp...8817009245
this book was introduced during the inauguration of the Museo dell'Emigrazione of the Fondazione Paolo Cresci in Lucca....

Thank You so much Laura
If I cant find it on Amazon I think I may have to write to the Museo dell'Emegrazione, but it will be much easier to trace the book now that I know the authors and the Title. Will let you know if I manage to get a copy of the book
Thanks again Laura

Need help here please
I have tried Amazon for the book but they dont have it then I went back into the site Laura gave me the link to and I find I can order it direct from the museum using a credit card but could you explain to me please is it a book and a CD Rom or is it just a CD Rom or just the book that is 25 euros?
My other problem is I dont understand what it is I'm asked to fill in
On the first page it says 'Nel Garritto' so I clicked on that and it took me to the next stage for ordering Then I chose 'Per Ordinare' then 'Pacco raccomandato' then 'Unione Europa'
and chose to pay by 'carta di credito'
But the next page I only understand where it wants my first name then my surname and my email address after that I'm lost
I would be very grateful if someone could explain what I have to fill in on that page and then I presume that the next page will be a secure site and ask for my card number.
Sorry to be such a nuisance
Emmy

Sorry Emmy, I can't get the link to open this evening, so I can't see where you are having your problems.... is your Skype working yet? If it is we could open the pge tomorrow and I could talk you through it. Tht is unless someone else manages to get it open beforehand and answer your questions.
But one way or another, I'm sure we'll be able to solve your problem. Laura may be around before me... never know your luck!

Thanks Carole for trying
My skype is playing up just now every time my daughter tries to connect me via skype from France it rings then we seem to get cut off for some reason and she ends up phoning using the normal phone.
Re the book I'll not give up I'll keep trying even although I am a bit
Emmy
edited to say that I have eventually managed to get to the last part of the forms for ordering the book and Hurrah! the last part had an English translation and it was a secure site.
Just need to wait for the postie now!
