All the information I have on my grandfather is that he arrived in the US thru Canada in December of 1914 from Reggio, Calabria. His birthday is approx. 1891. I believe his parents were Gerolimo and Marion, but I have been able to authenticate that information. Any additional information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have found this:

Border Crossings: From Canada to U.S., 1895-1956
about Francesco Campolo
Name: Francesco Campolo
Arrival Date: Dec 1909
Age: 19
Birth Date: abt 1890
Gender: Male

Port of Arrival: Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Father Gerolomo in Ravagnese Reggio Calabria - he is heading for NY to see his brother in law, Oscar Nisula but his name is crossed out so not sure what happened.

Oscar is listed for the person under Francesco. I found his entry to the USA for 1905 thru Canada, so he must have gone back up there and came back down in 1907. Thank you for this information. I'm trying to find out about whether he had brothers and sisters here in the states. On the 1930 census, it has his mother listed as living with them at that time. It says Marrie, but it should say Marion - the transcriber wouldn't have known from looking at the handwriting. I guess I just need to keep looking for anyone else who list Gerolomo Campolo listed as their father. Thank you so much.

I just found this paperwork and wonder if you could possibly translate it for me. I was so excited to see the names and dates, but I'm not sure who was born? Thank you very much.

Sincerely,
Lori

Loriincal, This is a birth cerificate from the birth registers of 1865 for the City of Reggio di Calabria.

It certifies that Foti Marianna, daughter of Paolo and of Cara Angela, wife of Campolo Girolamo, was born in Reggio Calabria on December 2, 1865.

The line that's cut off -- I am pretty sure that it says "to be used for immigration".

Hope this helps you out.

Mary

Thank you very much for that translation. I'm so excited to have found this paper, as well as many more that appear to be my grandfathers Army paper work from 1915-1918.

With deepest gratitude,
Lori
