Hi Everyone,
I received this email from the Archdiocese regarding two certificates for my grandfather Ferdinando Laurito - it looks as though I can send a volutary contribution - but I don't understand how they want me to do this.
Do I send a postal moneyorder or can I send payment through paypal - what would the account be?
Many thanks,
Carol

Hi Carol
What they have given you here is their bank co-ordinates to send this contribution to them. Translation is below...

You should be able to take these details into any bank where you have an account and ask them to send the payment to the church's bank.
If your bank won't/can't do this - come back to me and we should be able to work out a way to do it.... OK?

Translation:

Your request of 14th May 2009 for the issue of 2 certificates in the name of LAURITA FERDINANDO has been dealt with and is now waiting to receive the 2 certificates and having noted your willingness to send a contribution for the search of the archives we invite you to use the following bank current account:

c/c to UBI CARIME
Payable to: ARCIDIOCESI POTENZA-MURO-MARSICO BASILICA ASSUNZIONE
Coordinate IBAN: IT 63 S 03067 04200 000000008402
With the reason: SPESE RILASCIO CERTIFICATI (Cost of issuing certificates)

Brotherly regards,
The Director Emeritus A.S.D.

Thanks again Carole. I will check at my bank tomorrow but I have a feeling this is considered a wire transfer and that might cost more than the donation! Any suggestions on what a donation should be?
Regards,
Carol Wink

The size of a donation? Mmmm - I'm afraid that must really be down to you Carol. It perhaps depends on how important it is to you and how much a Comune might charge... Perhaps some others, who have paid for certificates before, can suggest a figure.

As for a bank transfer - if need be, I could do that for you and you could pay me via PayPal OR I could mail your donation in cash and you could use the same way to pay me. Certainly a bank transfer from here wouldn't cost as much as a 'wire transfer' from the USA.
