I have had another look at the place of birth of Pietro, and I believe it says "that place" -

So in other words Pietro Mazzei residing in Alpe di Stazzema, born in that place"

I have just found this death record from 1876. It looks like a brother of my 4 x Great-Grandfather, Iacopo Mazzei.

I think that this is my 5 x Gt Grandfathers' (Pellegrino Mazzei) death record from 1810.

I know my 4 x Gt Grandfather was called Jacopo Mazzei and he was born in approximately 1788.

The year is 1813, as that was the year listed in the index.

The town is Stazzema (the hamlet of Alpe di Stazzema).

I gave them both for some of the certificates (as I had that information) but for other's, I could only give birth years, and the Volume and page numbers.

They came back to me with the quota ...
