Can someone help me find a manifest? I am looking for Antonio Limongelli from Paduli, Benevento. It looks like the day of arrival is off though because I can't imagine it only took 3 days to cross the Atlantic in 1903. I think it was more like 10 days!

Here is a cut and paste from my cousin. She received this information by writing to Homeland Security/Immigration:

His names is Anthony Robert Limongelli, dob 6/14/1892. arrived in New York on 9/23/1903 on the ship Sardinia, left Naples on 9/20/1903.
His listed place of birth is Benevento, but I know he was born in Paduli, which is a hop, skip, & jump from Benevento. Not much more info than I already had???? Can't find any info on Sardinia docking on 9/23/1903, so I can't find a passenger list???????

Lori this is the only info I found so far... Would he have traveled in Mar, gone back home and traveled again a few months later? Then again there are some differences like where he was from so it may not even be him... Confused

New York, Passenger Lists, 1820-1957 about Antoine Limongiello
Name: Antoine Limongiello
[Antonio Limongiello]
Arrival Date: 26 Mar 1903
Birth Date: abt 1880
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Ethnicity/ Nationality: Italian
Port of Departure: Naples, Italy
Port of Arrival: New York, New York
Ship Name: Hesperia
Search Ship Database: Search the Hesperia in the 'Passenger Ships and Images' database

Manifest for Antonio Limongelli (listed as Antonio Ferrante), line 5, travelling with mother Maria Ferrante and siblings. Ship Sardegna. Last residence Paduli. Joining father Alfonso Limongelli in South Bethlehem PA. Departed Naples 9 Sep 1903, arrived New York 23 Sep 1903.

This image is from Ancestry since the image on Ellis Island is mislinked.

Hi Lori,

After unsusccessfully searching for him with the surname Limongelli, I thought he might be travelling with his mother or another relative/paesano with a differenct surname, so I did a search for first name Antonio, no surname, born +/- 1 year from 1892, arriving in Sep 1903, on a ship starting with Sard. There were two hits, one of which was your Antonio. When the Ellis Record was mislinked, I submitted a search to Ancestry with the complete information and located the correct manifest page.

Best,
Biff
