Here are the sites I was talking about........kinda of got sidetracked with recent events, but I need to get back to adding these links to Bob's wiki......I have lots of interesting links for Italian research, alot of which are in Italian......but one can always use Babelfish or ask one of our members who do speak Italian!!! Very Happy

The first is a death list for WW-1, by Province:
www.albodoroitalia.it/page13.html

The second is for the Italian Navy:
www.regiamarina.it/eng_index.htm

And this link is for the Military Archives:
www.esercito.difesa.it...tretti.asp

Hope this is helpful!!

My Grandfather did the same thing. When I started out all I knew was Cosenza and Paola - actually my father called it San Paola. My grandfather came from the Parantoro district of Montalto Uffugo. I know that now but it took years to discover that. My granddfather used to speak of Paola often so I guess all his kids assumed that he came from there. His cousins granddaughter set me on the correct path. Both her grandparents were from Montalto Uffugo (she was positive of this) and I thought why would his cousins be from another town? And if they were why would he follow them half way around the world? I have debunked facts of several family stories...you have to keep an open mind. Do you know the approximate year of birth? If you are serious about finding him and his family, (it may take time and effort) you will. And we are here to help.

Just a gentle reminder that if help is sought/required/needed in understanding (translating) such complicated and detailed sites, there are others who can help too.....
