This just in from my FHC Bulletin:

FindMyPast announced that, with the National Archives, they will be managing the launch of the 1911 UK census, in 2009. www.1911census.co.uk/ will be the first, and for a time the only place to access the 1911 census online.” You can register on that site to get regular updates but watch this space if you don’t. The digitised version of this census will take up half a petabyte of memory or 500 terabytes – 500,000 gigabytes – this is HUGE. There will be 18 million digital images and the censuses for larger places will be released first.
