Hi, I was hoping someone has some information on my great grandparents and my great grandfathers parents. My G Grandparents name were Carmelo Cosentino & Pasqualina Musitano. Both died of the Spanish flu but do not know where they were buried.

Carmelo's parents were Rosario Cosentino and Filomena Zappavigna. They had 3 children. Hopefully someone has birth dates.

As far as we know al originated in Ardore.

Thanks

Angelo

Angelo if the died in Ardore they may have been buried in the town directly or in an adjoining town like Locri which has a huge cemetery. I have done a lot of research for the town of Ardore since it is also my grandfather's ancestral birth place - have you gone through my website to see if there is anything on it for Rosario and Philomena?

Hi Nuccia, I've been to your website and I found it helpful. Thanks for the info above. Do you know where I can reference any mising birth records. I use family search.com but can't find a section for Reggio CAlabria. Do you think the records could be stored in Locri?

Thanks

Angelo

I'm glad you find the website useful. I created it because there isn't that much online for Reggio - especially on the bigger/better known sites. Locri might have something but you should also contact Ardore for the actual/birth death acts. Do you have any idea of when your ancestors were born? You say they died of the Spanish Flu so perhaps 1918 or so? Neither Ardore or Locri are very quick to reply and won't search for you unless you know some basic details. If you like message me what you know and I can poke around for you .

Hi, my GG-mother Pasqualina Musitano died in 1919 aged 33 which would place her birth around 1886/87. My GG-father Carmelo Cosentino died 1920 aged 46 which places his birth year around 1874/1875 perhaps. Pasqualina had a sister Rosa who died 1925 but I don't know her age.

One of their children is still living but can't remember much as he was only 2 - 3 years old when his parents died and 8 or so when his auntie died.

As far as I can tell, besides my GG-father who went to America for a few years and returned, the remainder spent their lives in Ardore. Anything that you could uncover would be very appreciated. Thanks again.

He's meeting his cousin Pisciuneri Rocco. As for the address - those are usually 'fake' addresses used for stop overs. Sometimes they were bank addresses or boarding houses. Rarely they were real addresses for this people.

Thanks for that. When I looked up Grove City I'll it was so far away from ny that I couldn't understand how they'd travel there. I know he ended up in Chicago for a while. I've seen there's a Cosentino building in Chicago. Who knows could be related?
