Welcome to the forum!!
San Fili is the next town south of my Grandfather's town of Montalto Uffugo. Until 1812 or so San Fili was part of Montalto. Your surnames are very familiar - the same as in Montalto. I am currently going through the records of Montalto and will keep my eyes open for your surnames. I know I have seen marriages in Montalto where the husband lived in San Fili. Do you have the microfilms of San Fili? Also, Nuccia's great grandfather came from San Fili.
Is there any special information you had in mind?

Thanks for the welcome, my grandmother Giovannina Onofrio was born in Pennsylvannia but I believe the family returned to Italy as my grandmother returned to Italy with her children as her mother was ill. She returned to the US with her children with a new addition and her two sisters.
My grandfather Antonio Passarelli was born in San Fili, where they got married I don't know.
Both are buried in New Rochelle, NY

I am looking at what I have for San Fili in my records. I started with the records of World War I deaths of soldiers born in San Fili that Riccardo was kind enough to transcribe for me. I came up with 2 brothers with one of your surnames:
ONOFRIO FRANCESCO son of Santo – Soldier 219th Reggimento Fanteria, born on 1896 in San Fili, died on 13 June 1916 in the 2nd Mobile Surgery hospital because wounded while fighting

ONOFRIO SAVERIO son of Santo – Soldier 79th Reggimento Fanteria, born on 6 Mar 1894 in San Fili, died on 10 Mar 1917 while prisoner of enemy from disease
I'll check my marriage records for San Fili if you would like me to.

Thanks Cathy, any info would be appreciated, I know that my grandmother returned to the US with two sisters, Rose and Concetta, one sister was left in San Fili, Christina. I don't know if there were any brothers. My grandfather and Grandmother might have been married in San Fili but I am not sure

Is this your Antonio? Since you didn't say what you had I thought I would post it. He naturalized very early on...

Oh, and I almost forgot. I'll add your names to the database within the next day or so.

Thanks, the 1930 census is correct, wife was known as Jenny, info I have word of mouth is that she was born in Pa. the children are correct , Millie was my mother. Antonio Passarelli was born 10/10/1873, grandmother born 8/20/1882.
I am not sure of the 1900 census, I estimate that they were married in 1907. I would appreciate if you do link them, which census says married for 5 years? I also believe I had an Uncle named Antonio Passarelli. What was the date of the petition? Can I download or print these?
Again thanks so much. I am hoping that I can get a birth act from Francavilla for my other grandfather. I also have a ship manifest showing my grandmother with 5 girls and two sister returning to the US from San Fili in 1921

I thought I would post the 1921 ship manifest for reference. It's two pages. Giovannina and sisters and children are on lines 6 through 12.

If you check the second page it shows Giovannina's birth place as San Fili and her sister Concetta's as Philadelphia.

Page two also shows sisters are going to New Rochelle to join father Giuseppe and Giovannina and children to join husband/father Antonio Passarelli both living at 291 Union St in New Rochelle, NY. Since sister Concetta was born in Philadelphia about 1899 and sister Rosa was born in New Rochelle about 1901, Giuseppe Onofrio, Giovannina's father, and her mother may have initially emigrated to the Philadelphia PA area before relocating to New Rochelle.

Also on page 2, it shows that Giovannina was previously in NY between 1902 and 1911.

1921 Onofrio manifest, page 1

tteti,
Let us see what else we can find for you.

You're welcome, Nuccia. I'm off to the eye doctor. After my eyes get back to normal later this afternoon or early this evening, I'll see what else I can find relative to census and manifest information. The WWI Draft card you posted has the same address as the one on the 1921 manifest so the family should have been living there when the 1920 census was taken. I'd like to see if I can find Giovannina's father's manifest and/or census records to see if we can learn the mother's first name.

Later,
Biff

Census of of Interest..although I'm not convinced that its your Antonio. Of course, Jenny was in Italy during this time (since Biff found the 1921 manifest) so she may have been missed. As for Antonio..it may be a relative...but at this point, I can't seem to find another Antonio..

1920 United States Federal Census
about Antonio Passarelli
Name: Antonio Passarelli
Home in 1920: New Rochelle Ward 4, Westchester, New York
Age: 46 years
Estimated birth year: abt 1874
Birthplace: Italy
Relation to Head of House: Head
Spouse's name: Angelina
Father's Birth Place: Italy
Mother's Birth Place: Italy
Marital Status: Married
Race: White
Sex: Male
Home owned: Own
Year of Immigration: 1896
Able to read: Yes
Able to Write: Yes

Household Members:
Name Age
Antonio Passarelli 46
Angelina Passarelli 44
Francisco Passarelli 40
Concetta Passarelli 30
Biggio Passarelli 3 4/12
Savario Callendiano 43

Lots of Passarelli's on this manifest, all living on Union Street..

1920 Census

and the link to the

1930 Census

Hope this helps some. Very Happy

Possible 1910 Census..

www.savocagenealogyonl...mage.x.jpg

Got tired of waiting for imageshack so I linked it to Mike's domain..

1910 United States Federal Census
about Antonio Passarello
Name: Antonio Passarello
Age in 1910: 36
Estimated birth year: abt 1874
Birthplace: Italy
Relation to Head of House: Head
Father's Birth Place: Italy
Mother's Birth Place: Italy
Spouse's name: Giovannina
Home in 1910: New Rochelle Ward 4, Westchester, New York
Marital Status: Married
Race: White
Gender: Male
Year of Immigration: 1897
Neighbors: View others on page
Household Members:
Name Age
Antonio Passarello 36
Giovannina Passarello 28
Carmela Passarello 6
Rosina Passarello 2
Emilia Passarello 1/12
Frank Passarello 40
Giovanni Passarello 34

Says they were married 8 years which puts the marriage at about 1902. I think I'm going to revisit that 1900 manifest...looks like there is another Antonio...
