Billie..I'm trying but I'm having NO LUCK at all! Its obviously mis spelled...unless, he was in Italy during the time the census was taken??? Possible since the 1920 Census would be right after the War????

That could be true. I was also thinking that maybe GiuseppAntonio (Antonio) may have died in Rhode Island. Can you check for a death record on him? I think his age was listed as 75 when he came in 1921 so his birth year would be around 1845.

This is really strange think

I think the Antonio death info I posted earlier would/might have been his...dies in 1928 in R.I at age 70..listed Bruno and Maria as next of kin?

Ok my heads spinning right now!! So we have his death and we have Bruno and Maria next of kin. Does that mean Maria was living in the US at that time?

Next question - the very first manifest I posted - 1909 - for Bruno. Says he's going to his cousins place. The name of the cousin (I think) would be Domenico Grenci. Can you see if he shows up on the 1910, 20 and 30 census? I don't know any information on him at all. Just hoping that Bruno might show up with him.

I looked up Domenico Grenci's manifest and it's starting to fit. 1905 he was going to Nicola Ierulli (my cousin) in Middletown. 1909 Bruno was going to Domenico Grenci. So I think if you can find Domenico Grenci's census info we might find Bruno.

I think you guys are confusing two families.

The Bruno Arena who married Maria Mongiardo is my great great grandfather. He had a son, Bruno, who married Lucy Cuozzo and they settled in Brooklyn. Despite the fact Bruno (sr) intended to visit the Rhode Island arenas, he did not end up there. He ended up in West Virginia, and he died several months after landing. I'm desperately trying to find out info about him and west virginia. Bruno (jr) was a twin, and there were several other siblings who never had anything to do with each other once they came to the US. I have no idea why. The Rhode Island crew is different. Please contact me if you have any information
