So you think this Nicolo on the ship is Giorgio's father since he is 51 in 1897? Rosaria also seems to be older maybe born 1864 could it be the mom? Not sure how to interpret these ages relative to Giorgio and his brother Nicolo.

I think it's a strong possibility that this Nicolo could be the father. It would put his year of birth about 1846. Would have put his age at about 36 when Giorgio was born.

Edit to add comment........Rosaria could be his daughter. Would have put him at about 18 years old at her birth.........but it's a possibility.

Hi John - if you want to put emoticons inside a 'Quote Box' - to use the quote facility just select the "Quote" sign on the post you want to answer. Then on your reply sheet you will see the "..." signs - put your cursor INSIDE THAT QUOTE and just click on the 'emoticon' you want to put there...

Hope that helps!

That's the address from the manifest.......if you check out the 1900 census I posted it's written up the side by the name Palmeri and next to that name on the left is the street number 1326 but I can't make out the street name on the census either.

Ciao a Tutti!!

I think the address is 1326 Dryades St on the 1900 census. The other street on the census page is Thalia.

1326 Dryades is now 1326 Oretha C Haley Blvd.

One technique I use is to access the census ED locator on Steve Morse's site and then check the alpha listing of streets to see if anything looks close.

Biff

Hey John

It's the address on the manifest where the Gigliotta is going to his cousin ? Palmeri and it gave the street (but I couldn't make out the name) and the number for the street was 1326 and it's in New Orleans. I found the 1900 census for Palmeri in New Orleans and it's the same address.

Lucky for us, Biff made out the street name and address and posted it!! So now you have another name of a relative with the surname of Palmeri!

The two addresses matched. Very Happy
