Would someone have an address for the Commune di Pieve di Cadore, BL? I have written them once before regarding the Birth Certificate for Francesco Romano De Maso, born 1866, Nebbiu, (no response). I would like to follow up, but now I'm not sure I had the correct address and of course, I can't find my original document. Also any shortcuts that might be helpful when addressing my research problem, Euros, SSAE etc....

Comune Di Pieve Di Cadore
Ufficio Anagrafe - Stato Civile
Piazza Municipio, 17
32044 Pieve Di Cadore (BL)
Italia

tel: +39 0435 500697

Sindaco (Mayor) Rag. Maria Antonia Ciotti
Amministratori Comune di Pieve di Cadore

Joe, I would advise sending Italian postage stamps with any request for documents and while I am aware that 'other sites' do say to send cash, I don't agree with that at all (for a variety of reasons).

I have been helping people by offering a 'postage stamp service' and Nuccia and I have decided that this will be included as a service which I can offer to our "Gente" members... The cost will only be that of the stamps and the PayPal exchange as we are not looking to make it a profit making service in any way.

So if you are interested Joe, drop me an PM and for anyone else who may wish to know more - I hope to be able to issue more details about the service in the next few days!

Thanks for that Joe... I'll look at it tomorrow or Thursday for you. Can't on Wednesday as I've got to go to Milano for my annual 'cardio' check...

I'll let you know as soon as I know something - OK?

Hi Joe,

I live in Lake Zurich (northern suburb) and have a brother that lives in Palos. Just wanted to give you shout.

Good luck in your research.

Elizabeth

Hi Joe,
If you want I can try and solve the problem straight away as I could phone to the Ufficio Anagrafe in Pieve di Cadore and ask them what's the reason you don't get an answer.
They might be very busy in shoveling away snow, there is a lot up there and today is going to snow again....

I looked at Pieve di Cadore official website and they have direct e-mail addresses for the various offices in their city hall. Here is the link:

Pieve di Cadore - Ufficio Anagrafe

click on the 4th line where it says anagrafe.pieve...it's direct, you can attach your request there.
On the first line (sindaco) you can send your request directly the mayor if you prefer but she (she's a lady) will pass your request to the Ufficio Anagrafe.

Thanks Uantiti. I would like to hold off on the phone call for a while as I have another similar contact going on and I don't want to confuse them with more than one request. That is not to say I don't want your help, I very much appreciate your offer, but would like to wait a spell. And, I will check out the Pieve di Cadore website. Thanks again...

What a small world. I frequent a few Palos restaurants "occasionally." Capri Restaurant is our favorite. Also Lumes for breakfast. Is your brother a genealogy buff? Tell him a "Ridge Runner" said hello.

My brother doesn't do any genealogy himself, he and the rest of my siblings and cousins are depending on me for that but I'll still tell him you said hello. I've eaten many times at Lumes myself. My brother is just off of 127th and Harlem. You're right it is a small world!

Joe - do whatever it takes to get a lunch at Billie's house! She makes the most fabulous Giambotta (not sure I spelled that correct). Look:

Sure looks good. Is it a main entree or a desert, or a side dish? I'll order it next time we go out Italian.
