THe only info we have so far is Catarina Stoppelli (born in 1890 +/- 1yr)travelled to USA , Hartford CT on July 19 1913 with Her daughter Rosina "Calabrese". Emergency name lists Catarina's mother as "Madelina Toce". We know that she was married to Rocco Calabrese, but don't know where they were married. Rocco had a brother Mateo and he is buried in Hartford CT in the same plot as Catarina.
Anyone have any additional places we should look, thanks, we are trying to plan a trip to Italy and would like to gather as much information before going.

For reference,1913 manifest

Since Caterina's last residence and town of birth is listed as Corleto Verticaro(Corleto Perticara in the province of Potenza?), she and Rocco were likely married there since marriages usually took place in the bride's town.

Hello Fred and Biff, Very Happy

My maternal grandmother, Anna Maria Priore was born in Corletto and I have the Toce and Calabrese families in my family tree, but not in the late 1800's. I am familiar with the Stoppelli surname through my research, but haven't found a link to my lines yet.
I have all of the Corleto records on film at the FHC and would be happy to do lookups for you if you would like. There are records on line, but I am not sure if they are free to view. Biff or someone on this forum may have access to them.
Also, I am going to PM you a couple of email addresses of people who have been to Corletto, may know your family and would be happy to help in your planning your trip..

Paul

My father's side has the last name Calabrese. My paternal grandmother had the last name of Calabrese. No Rocco's though. Common given names on that side are: Natale and Sebastiano.
Wish I could find out more about that side of my family. I still have many relatives in Italy but getting information out of them is like pulling teeth.....furthest I have is my great great grandfathers name of Sebastiano Calabrese.
