Ok, so I posted about his wife and now I am not sure where Giorgio is from.

Originally thought he was from Sambuca, now I am not so sure. His siblings are:

Alex (for sure)
Cola (for sure but same as Nick?)
Nick
Joe/Giuseppe (maybe)

Are Cola and Nick derived from Nicolo?

He married Lena Aaccardo

He died in Beaumont Texas

His birth is estimated at 1885 based on death record.

I do not know his parents names.

He had many kids including my grandmother Elizabeth.

I had found Nicolo Gigliotta coming to New Orleans and yes, it says Sambuca..............did Nicolo and Giorgio have a sister named Rose or Rosaria? She was on the same ship as Nicolo.

Nick and Cola are names used for Nicolo and Nicola. My uncles name was Nicola.....his wife, my mom, aunt etc....all called him Cola.

Elizabeth, my mom tells me that Cola and Nick are the same person most likely, so yes Nicolo is Nick/Cola. Giorgio also has a brother named Alex, he married Florence, and he died in 1955. He came over illegally and stayed with Giorgio until he got his papers. Sill not sure about a Joe. My mom says Giorgio may have had a sister so maybe that is Rosaria! So now I woul dlike to know who Giorgio's parents were! It would seem Sambuca is the town of origin...

ok so Nicolo Gigliotta was 18 in January of 1906 and born in Sambuca, going to visit his brother Giorgio that is established right?

Did you guys not see the page of Sambuca birth Record Index extractions?

Sambuca Birth Record Index Extractions

Figuring he would (most likely) turn 19 in that year he came (1906) that would mean he was born in 1887 in (as the manifest states) Sambuca

A quick check of the 1887 birth index reveals this record:

Gigliotta, Nicolo 244-1887 son of Nicolo Gigliotta

this of course corresponds with the post in the other thread for:

Giorgio Gigliotta born 1882 son of Nicolo

We now have Giorgio's father's name. As I said if you contact the lady who runs that website she will send you a full copy of the document which would naturally give a lot of information, including the mother's name.

What do you think?

Oh and the proper Italian form is Nicolo, Nicola is very very rare at this time period.

Yes but that is older than our Giorgio and as we know our Giorgio had a brother Nicolo born 1887 (on the manifest he was going to his brother Giorgio in Patterson, LA. and also who IS the son of Nicolo) we can be certain the father of Giorgio is Nicolo, and we have the 1882 birth of a son Giorgio to Nicolo to back it up.

Ok. I thought he came in 1897 and was 19 which would put his birth about 1878. I might be getting confused (which wouldn't be the first time)!!!!
