Ok, I have received a good amount of information about Enrico Melissari, my oldest known relative in the United States. I have listed below as much information as I could gather about Enrico to help me move onto the next step about my family. Anything anyone can do...I would appreaciate it. Please Help Me! I am knew to this.

Enrico Melissari(my Great Grand Father)
Born: in Villa San Giovanni, Reggio Calabria on 06/16/1896
Came to U.S. the first time on 10/14/1913, Port of Departure: Naples, Italy
Ship Name: Ancona
2nd Time: March 22, 1920, Port of Departure: Naples, Italy at Age 23 Ship Name: Dante Alighieri Arrival in New York via Ellis Island
Married: Paulina Russo(Melissari) on July 10, 1922 cert # 20294
Fought in the Italian Army for WWII
Died in 1987 in Flusing New York, Buried at St. Mary's Cemetary
Possible Sibilings: Giovanni, Luigi and Albino Melissari all born in Salice Italy but last known residence Villa San Giovanni. All came to U.S. through Port New York to meet first brother in US (Albino)

Melissari means Honey in old Sardinia Language, dialect of Italian.

I am trying to locate records, documents, and any additional information about my family after Enrico. Please if any one can provide me some advice.

From the other Melissari thread, it appears that Enrico had at least three other siblings--brothers Luigi, Giovanni and Albino.

Although his WWII draft card states his birth as Villa San Giovanni, his manifest and those of his brothers states last residence as Villa San Giovanni but place of birth as Salice, possibly Salice Calabro which is now a frazione (hamlet) of the city of Reggio Calabria.

At this point, there are two options available for you. Either writing away for documents or ordering the microfilms for Salice Calabro from FHC and checking them at the Austin Family History Center near you.

Arlington Texas FHC address/phone info:

Closed: Mondays , Thursdays and Fridays. Closed dates include all National Holidays and LDS conference dates. Check with the Center.
Attention: Please call to verify open if driving long distances.

Since the records are in Italian, the following books will help to familiarize you with interpreting the records. They will give you a feel for what types of records are available, their format, etc.

Thank you for all of your help. I am looking into going to the local LDS center here in Arlington to see if that can be helpful in going further back.
