Dark copies of records

I received several death records from the Archives and it looks like they were copied from microfilm much like many I have done at the LDS library. Is there anything that can be done to lighten them to make them more readable?

I am attaching one below.

I'm not sure lightening is the issue. Did you scan this and then post it? Scanning at a higher resolution will create a larger image but it will also allow one to enlarge that image so that detail can be examined more easily. Of course, there is a trade off with size when posting to an online site but at least it is easier to decipher on one's own computer.

I use IrfanView.com it is freeware that Livio turn me on too for viewing records and for lightening and darkening I use photo gallery on windows that irfanview prg is great........
