Looking for my G-Grandfather, Carmine Mirabelli supposedly from Cerrisi, Catanzaro, Calabria, Italy.
He was born anywhere from 1860-1868. Different on several records.
Came to US abt. 1898 to Pittsburgh, PA
Died in 1926.
Married Anna Colucci?, Coluccio?, Gallucci?......different of records...some not readable. She died in 1906-07?
Absolutely NO information on her.
His second marriage was to Teresa Mancuso, in 1909. She was born in Carlopoli, Catanzaro, Italy in 1878.
Any information would greatly appreciated.

Thank,
Kathy Marbella Churma

Did she die in Italy or the US? I would request a copy of her death act and it should list her approximate age, parents names and husbands name. Also, did the have any children? If so and you have a year of birth for the first one, then try looking for the marriage act for them about two years before that child's birth. It would be the most accurate for listing their ages and parents names as well as places of births, etc.

I took a clinet to Carlopoli and the Mancuso name is from there and also nearby Cicala. I can send you a photo of the church if you like.

Thank you for responding....I'm not sure when Anna died, but it was here in US in Pittsburgh, PA. Their marriage certificate in 1901, stated that she was 23 yrs. old....no date. I believe that she could not speak English well and didn't know what to answer OR they lied about their age. ????? They had my Grandfather, Anthony, but on his baptism record it just states only her name. I think I'll requests any church records I can and that may shine some light on her. It may even give her actual death date, so i can request her death certificate without paying more for the multiple year search.
Thank you,
Kathy

Ann,
Yes, I would love a picture of the church. Teresa Mancuso was my Grandfather's step mother, but she raised him from when he was 2 yrs old.
She's the Grandmother my Dad remembers and we have pictures of.

This is an adventure......
Some day I may find my Grandfather's real mother, Anna. No one has a picture of her or of his father, Carmine Mirabelli! Sad

Hopefully via this website, someone will know something.

Thank you for your help,
Kathy
