I have been able to locate three manifests of my grandmothers brother. Would someone who has a subscription to ancestry mind saving the images as JPG's or PDF's for me? I would really appreciate it. Here is what I've found..........His name is Francesco Tedeschi and Francesco Tedesco. I don't know if there were any detain pages.

1909

1914

1905

I found a 1910 census record for him. If anyone else can find any information on him please post. His wife was Giuseppa Coda and I can't find any data that would point to her ever coming to the USA. Both are from Brognaturo and Francesco was born 1884.

Thanks all. Very Happy

Hi, Elizabeth Very Happy !

I'll try to post the manifests and any other information I locate this evening. Ancestry has been really slow this afternoon. Hopefully, it'll be better later.

Elizabeth you don't need Ancestry if you have Firefox browser on your computer. Using Firefox, click on the links you've provided and then do the following:
Click on the TOOLS tab
Click on PAGE INFO
CLICK on MEDIA tab
Select the line which contains TIF2GIF.EXE
Click on the SAVE AS tab
Rename the document to WHATEVERYOUWANT.JPG
SAVE the file
REPEAT until you have all of the images.

Nuccia, the technique I described applies to the special case involving those links Elizabeth listed as the manifest enlarger has a block to prohibit saving the image. I've just listed a work-around which, doesn't require a subscription to Ancestry. Firefox is a free download and worth having on one's computer for instances such as the one above involving the manifest enlarger. One need not make Firefox one's main browser. I have FF, Safari, Camino, and Opera on my computer, but I'm a little excessive. I'll test IE to see if there is a way to save images produced by the manifest enlarger.

OK. It is possible to save the image created by the manifest enlarger using IE 7 but it isn't as direct as it is with FF. Open the image link, such as the one Elizabeth provided, click on PAGE(on IE's toolbar), click on SAVE AS, then SAVE. Go to the folder created in your Documents Folder named MANIFEST ENLARGER_files, open that folder and then open a folder named ZOOM_MAN_files and you will find a file named tif2gif. The image is a GIF image and it's the one you want. Rename the file to suit your own purposes. Each time you save one of the images from the manifest enlarger you will need to overwrite the previous folder, which is why you should rename the image file and move it to another folder after each operation. Sorry, this isn't as simple as using FF.

Giuseppina's brother Vincenzo Coda 1909 manifest--same vessel same arrival date as Francesco Tedeschi but on different page.

I'm having a difficult time locating any other records for Francesco. Looks like he was a true "bird of passage" with different state destinations on each of the manifests.

Thanks again Biff.

Yes he did alot of traveling and according to my family my grandmother was the only one from her family (siblings) to come to america. At first I thought I was seeing things but there he was!!
I found a 1910 census but haven't had any luck with any other info on him or any other census info.

Biff on the 1905 manifest the town he is going to is Braddock, PA and I know the cousin he is going to is Francesco Valente. Looking at the street to me it looks like 409 or 609 Ram akins Ave.??? Hoping you can lend your expertise here. The closest street I've found is Rankin Blvd.

Hi, Elizabeth Very Happy !

After a bit of checking, I believe you're correct that the destination location was Rankin Blvd in Braddock.
