I was able to find your Domenico Forunato Lapa birth act.

You can view it here:

Domenico Fortunato Lapa Birth Act

I've just ordered the films for Ardore for Nati 1810-1830 .

We should be able to go back one more generation with this for both our families.

Patty,

I took a couple of differnt scans and can email them to you. The reader scanner at the FHC is broken as I mentioned to you before and I was lucky to be able to get them. Try to print it out (maybe reduce the size. I will email you the files. Can you view TIFF's on your PC?

From what I figured out, Domenico was the son of Rosario Vincenzo (born about 1810 but maybe later) and Francesca Zappavigna, born about 1823. He was born 24 August 1853.

I just emailed them to you. I am going to attempt to print them as well. I reduced the size to 30% and it looks ok. I may also try to open it in my PSP program and print them. I found a few of my relatives birth acts as well and am going to try to print them.

Now that I know I have them and where they are, I can always attempt printing them directly from the FHC.

I need to take a neighbor to an appointment, so I'll try printing later.

I think I may have found another child for Rosario and Francesca. In the indice for 28 Oct 1839, Act 107 there is an entry for Rosa Maria Lapa, father ___ Vinzenzo Lapa and Francesca Zappavigna. That would make Francesca about 16 years old and Rosario about 29..certainly possible that this is thier first child. If it is, then you can try and write away for the marriage act. Ask them to search from 1837-1839, I will get the birth act the next time I visit the FHC to verify the information. There weren't too many Lapa's in Ardore so I think this could be a good possibility that she is one of your ancestors.

Perhaps this is another relative?

Father: Vincenzo Lapa
Mother: Francesca Zappavigna

Francesca Maria Antonia Born 19 Oct 1836 in Ardore.
