If a family moved from a comune, 1910-1915, would there be a record somewhere?

The husband originated in Sicily, later lived in a comune outside Naples, then he and his family disappeared. I am assuming they moved to his home in Sicily.

Any information about the process would be appreciated.

If the Comune had 'scheda individuale' at that time it should be marked on the card. Many towns didn't begin this system until 1930 though.

Another record that might prove helpful is the Cittadinanza.

Cathy, this family wouldn't have had a cittadinanza record if they were Italian from Sicily, would they?

In my town (Castiglione Di Sicilia, CT), we have a lot of cittdinanza records. I have not gotten into them yet, but I guess they do exist for Sicilian towns. Hope that helps. Smile

Hey, thanks all. I guess I will have to email with the question. The comune in question is pretty good at responding.

There is a record called 'Foglio di via' which is probably more useful. Cittadinanza is a document for becoming an Italian citizen not a resident of the town.

Thank you Ann. What exactly is that record? I am not clear.

The one I saw was more like a order to leave town. They even gave them bus fare and money for food on the journey.
