I just started tracing back my family and have gotten as far back as the Ellis Island records. My great grandfather came over from Cefalia?, Sicily when he was 2 years old in 1912. His name was Francesco Faraci. It doesn't appear that his father, Giuseppe Faraci b. 4/17/1868, came over until 1914. I'm not sure where to look for anything now. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Hi Tony,

I was just reading your post and needed to clarify a few things.. According to Francesco's manifest, he arrived here with his father, Cosimo Faraci and mother, Concetta Fertitta (?). Cosimo lists his mother as Concetta Ierio )Terio). His siblings also came..

Giovannimaria, Salvatore. Concetta, and Vincenzo

Am I looking at the right manifest? If not, can you please post the correct ones? Thanks Very Happy

Yes...it seems my info is all messed up...my grandfather's memory is not all there. From what I can gather now, Giuseppe Faraci came to the US through BOSTON, not New York. He had 3 sons, Charles, James Vincent, and Frank. Frank later had his last name changed from FAraci to FEraci when he got married. But I can't find any birth cert info or census info on anyone. I found a draft card for giuseppe that listed a person on it as Angelina but I don't know if that was his wife or what. I'm getting very frustrated! Sorry....

Perhaps this is the family in the 1920 Census? The oldest daughter is missing so my guess is that she got married.
