Becky, if you still need to print out the manifest for Caliaro the manifest is below.
yfrog.com/59caliaromanifestj
You should be able to print from this. Right click and choose "print this" or copy to your computer.

1913 ship manifest for Clarice (that's what first name looks like to me) Testa and daughter Serafina Persi. Lines 27 and 28.
Clarice, age 26, yob about 1887
Serafina, age 4, yob about 1909
Last residence and place of birth: Patrica
Joining husband/father Domenico Persi in ? Pennsylvania
Posssible relative on line 26, Giuseppe Testa.
Looks like both Clarice and Serafina were quarantined for several weeks after their arrival and released from quarantine on 5 Dec 1913 based on notes on second page of manifest.

I could not get the print to come out right with the Image Shack, but it worked fine with the last one you gave me.
Thank you, Nuccia, for the Ancestry link. I also can not find the Ancestry link for Clarice Testa, who arrived in 1913, born 1887. I am not sure what I am doing incorrectly, because I typed in the info on Ancestry, and it does not show it.
What does the Ma mean when put in front of a woman's name?

I have two Greek people who I am having difficulty finding on a ship's manifest. I have their naturalization papers listing the ships' names, but can't find them on the manifests. One of them had a name change after arriving, but the other probably did not. Can any of you Ellis Island "experts" possibly find them?
One was listed as Gust Hages, born 1897 in Plata, Lemnos Island, Greece. He traveled on the Athinai, arriving Sept. 7, 1915 in New York. Departure point was Pireaus. His first name was also listed as Constantine. (I think Gust is a nickname for Constantine.) He would probably be tough to figure out, as his name was changed after getting to Aliquippa, PA.
The other one is Nicholas Psomas, born 1873, in Kondias, Lemnos Island, Greece. He arrived in April 22, 1904 on the ship, Algeria, in New York, according to the Naturalization papers, filed in 1926. He and his wife were listed in NYC in the 1920, with their five children. The name was Anglicized on that census as Passones. According to that census, he was listed as being born in 1881. Then in the 1930 census, he was listed as being born in 1878. The naturalization papers listed the birth year as 1873, however. I don't think the name Psomas was actually changed from something else with this one, so it, seemingly, should be easier.
If I could find someone with expertise in the Greek immigration, I would bother them with this, but there doesn't seem to be any kind of group for that.

Thank you, Nuccia, for Clarice's manifest.
I checked the Johannes Ladas listing. There actually was a Constantine listed there, but the age and the origin are wrong. Thana is in the mid-section of Greece. His origin was Plaka, on the island of Lemnos. It is actually very close to Turkey. I have noticed that sometimes some people from Lemnos in that time period have their country listed as Turkey, with their nationality listed as Greek. I think Turkey occupied the isand for a while.

I went through the entire ship manifest for the Athinai on the Sept. 7, 1915 date. There were 2 possibilities considering ages, destinations, and hometown of people possibly related to Gust Constantine Hages. One was on line 177 - Nicolaos Coutaridis, born 1895 on Lemnos, heading to Woodlawn, PA (which is now Aliquippa). The other was (line 641) Georgios Stamatonias (sp?), born 1899 on Lemnos, and heading to Woodlawn. The problem with his, is that the name is completely marked out, so the last name is nearly impossible to read. Would his name be scratched out because he didn't make the trip?
I also found a WWI draft card which listed Gust as "Gust Foti Hages." He also listed his closest relative as Mike Foti Hages in Aliquippa. Gust's first son was named Fotios. So, I am thinking that the name Foti might have some significance. Foti seems to be an Italian name, so perhaps it was just shortened from Fotios, since there were lots of Italians living in Aliquippa, PA.

I have finally succeeded in finding two names I have been looking for, but once again I'm having trouble reading the ship's manifest.
The writing is a bit difficult to decipher, particularly with the Greek names. On the Ellis Island records, it is listed as this, if anyone can look at the original:
Ship name - Patris
From Pireaus to New York
Arrived June 3, 1911
Names as listed: Steliani, Madamo, and Flourio(?) Psoma (I can't tell what the last first name is, if anyone can read it.)
They are from Lymnos, Turkey (Lymnos was under Turkish control at that time)
[/b]
The parents back on Lymnos are listed, and I am having trouble reading the exact spellings.
Steliani's father first name looks like it says, " Charalambos or Charalambon."
His last name looks like it says " Geroufa or Garoufa."
Flourio's mother's name looks like it says "Foriniu or Fotenisi."
Whover wrote the ship's records uses fancy first letters that I can not decipher very well.
Can anyone tell what the names actually are?
(If you go through Ancestry to look at the ship's manifest, it is listed under Nadamo Psoma, born 1905 in Turkey, arrived in NYC on June 3, 1911 on the ship Patris, departing from Piraeus. The three women are on lines 6,7, and 8.)

Ha, you're right, Nuccia. Ouch - thankfully, most of the people I'm trying to find are Italian.
The only reason I can tell it is supposed to be Stelliani is because her name was always listed as Stelliani on records later on.
By the way, do you know what it means when the letters "Ma" are written in front of an Italian woman's name on a manifest?

Hi Becky,
I am your future son-n-laws distant cousin. Rosario Raco and Theresa Taliano were my great-grand parents. My grandfather is the twin of his grandfather. I was so excited to stumble on your search literally seconds after finding this page. It has been so helpful to our search as well.
If I find anything I think you might find interesting I will post it.
If you find any surviving relatives in Italy, I would love to know. I am now living in the UK and we have plans to visit Italy in the next few years.

Hi Becky, I have Guiseppe and Caterina as Rosario's parents and Domenick and Francis as Teresa's parents. (some of this from my grandfather and old records we had) did you go beyond this?

I'm making good progress on my project. I do need some help on reading a ship manifest for another person, however. I have attached it. I am trying to find the name of the person that Guiseppe Testa is joining in Erminie, PA. It is his brother-in-law, but I can't decipher his name. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it greatly. He is on line 8.
If you can't read the attachment, it is the ship, Madonna, from Naples to New York, arriving April 4, 1906.

Looks like the attachment didn't attach. Maybe you can edit your your post and attach it? If not, try a new post.
