I have no experience in asking many documents at the same time. But it shouldn't be a problem for a small comune such as Gizzeria. Here is the body of the letter with the add on:

Egregi Signori,

Mi chiamo Your Name, ed abito negli Stati Uniti all'indirizzo sopradetto.

Distinti saluti,

Oh most definitely will share with all of you! I am heading to the post office shortly. Do you have any idea or estimation how long it will take to hear back from them?

Thanks again to all of you!

One more thing...should I go ahead and put stamps on the return envelope too?

NO stamps on the return envelope. The vital records office will apply Italian postage to the envelope.

Once you get your records from the comune, and get back to the 1860's, you should be able to find your family documents here

Thanks Nuccia for the encouragement to keep hope alive for my search. I hope to receive something back. I will keep you all posted! This site and you all are the best thing that has happen for me in my quest to find my Italian heritage!

I come from a big family of 4 brothers and 2 sisters and a lot of cousins. They are all excited that I am finding out about our Provenzano family that we sadly don't know much about. My father has been gone for many years and his siblings (a large family) have all passed on and as we all get older it becomes important to us to learn more so we can pass it down to our children and so on since most of our children never knew their grandfather. My mother passed away in 2004, but we had learned a lot from her through the years and her nieces have traced their Irish heritage back to the 1600s.

I would just like to get our grandfather, grandmother and great grandparents family information. That to me would be a huge accomplishment.

So God bless you all and thank you all for your support!
