So I've hit a bit of a dead end in researching the Italian side of my family. Records I've come up with thus far, show my 2x great grandfather, Francis Saracino (though the current spelling is Saraceno) who left in or about 1882 from what I believe was Naples after living in Reggio di Calabria in Italy, born February 12, 1858. He then married Antoinetta or Antonia Tamburro, also believed to be from Calabria. The two had 8 children - all after arriving in NYC (Angelina, Carmela, Lucia, Domenico, Maria, Rosina, Joseph and finally, my great grandfather, Biaggio). I've seen numerous pieces of paperwork (birth certificates, marriage licenses and death certificates) with a few different spellings... Saraceno, Saracena, Saracino and Sarracino. I also understand there is a castle in Taormina, Sicily bearing the name Saraceno as well. Any and all help towards a step in the right direction is GREATLY appreciated.

Your first step should be to obtain all US documents. Marriage, births, census records. etc.
You need to identify the names of the fathers' of this couple and the precise town where they were born.
Once you have this information check to see if the records are on line, or they are on microfilm, or if you need to write to the town in Italy for their respective birth records.
