I just read about this on my Living Language calendar, LOL. It says that they celebrate it, but only between lovers or couples. Family members and friends do not give each other cards or gifts. My friend from Foggia also confirmed that they celebrate it.

Oh.... Yes John, but as PoipuO4 said it's only between lovers, couples it's not for friends.....

I can't speak 'personally' anymore - but certainly in years gone by couples DID celebrate the day.

My husband gave me just one red rose for our first Saint Valentines Day. Then the following year it was TWO, and one extra rose was added for every year. Now that was sooooo romantic!

There was never a card - just the roses
