You need to be more specific with your information. Outline more precisely what you were doing as well as info about your computer, OS, etc.

I've got an HP, running Windows XP, Media Center Edition.

When I right click on an image, use the "save as" feature, it only list the file options of btp or art........niether of which I can open in my Image Program. I even tried using the Paint Program, and still nothing. I get an error message stating that the program does not recognize the file format.
All that I get is a blank blue thumbnail.....but no image.

Previously I had the option of saving as a jpeg, gif or giff...

So I'm sure I've screwed up something somewhere.. Embarassed

OK. It could be that the image you are trying to save is in the formats listed. Can you provide a link to the image or where the image is found? The ".art" extension is an AOL format (double compressed image format). This link provides info on converting that format: members.aol.com/oldnel.../page9.htm

This link is a listing of image file types by extension:
www.fileinfo.net/filetypes/image

I don't recognize the ".btp" extension.

the btp extension refers to a BetaPad file (usually a dialogue). Can you email the file you saved? EJFFTS @ gmail.com (remove the space before and after the @ symbol).

So the btp extension is for this open source text editor for Windows? Here is the link: www.autoitscript.com/f...howfile=53

The site I was trying to use for free genealogy graphics:

vintagekin.com

ever since I reinstalled AOL, I have had nothing but problems with my
computer!!

Will get back to this in the morning, just spent five hours cleaning my office.....it's now 2am, and I'm beat!!

Thank you bunches for the help....maybe now I won't have to try and
convince my hubby that I need to replace a 3 year old computer.... hide

Sort of.....the best way to explain is if you right click on a webpage and select "view source" it autmatically opens it in notepad and if you save it, it will have a txt extension. This is the same idea except it will have the btp extension.

Lee I went to the site and it works fine for me. Let me know which images you want and I'll save them and send to you.

I had just started to go thru the site, it looks to have some really great graphics for my scrapbooking.....I'm not really doing a typical tree for my genealogy, laying it out more like a scrapbook.

I'm going to play around with the computer and sites provided to see if I can figure this out.......I'm no computer whiz, but I think that when I deleted some recent programs, they hijacked files I needed. I can't even find the jpeg, gif, or giff files in the files registry.

If I can't fix this, I'll send you an email with the graphics I want.

Thanks,
Lee Smile
