We are currently preparing to upgrade our reseller servers to Apache 2.2 . This change should have only positive effects on you, but we wanted to inform everyone just the same. Additionally, we will concurrently upgrade from MySQL 4 to MySQL 5. Any recent applications should be MySQL 5 compliant, but you should confirm with your application’s programmers/writers.
We will also be making a change regarding fastcgi. As some of you probably know, fastcgi isn’t very stable under Apache 2.2. As such, we’re going to be switching to fcgid. Usually this switch would require you to update your .htaccess files to change the fastcgi-script handler to fcgid-script, however, we’ve worked around this and you won’t have to make any changes at all to begin using fcgid instead of fastcgi. If you’re not using Ruby on Rails, or fastcgi, you can ignore the above entirely.
