He was born in Italy in 1876 and was married to Virginia (Pedroni) Bodio, At that time the family lived in Milford Ma.
Any ideas where or how I might be able to find out if this story is true and if it is true some documentation?

If he died in the US you should be able to obtain a copy of the death certificate from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.......my GF died in NY state in 1912 and his death cert gave the cause of death.
