Author: Carole, Location: Valtellina - Near Lake ComoPosted: Wed Jul 11, 2007 9:17 pm ---- We have been made aware that we must, by law, control (police?) the content of any items posted on this site to ensure that the laws regarding unsuitable content in areas to which minors may have access are upheld.
This is strictly controlled by the powers that be.
When we (members) register with any site we/they agree to accept the 'general Terms of Service' - which you don't see again. But we have chosen to have our own Terms of Service and Behaviour Rules posted at all times for ease of understanding by all our members.
Perhaps only the Administration is aware of the age of our members, and often others aren't. We already have - on "Gente di Mare" - at least one member under 13, who has written consent from a parent to participate. But we also have others who come under the laws for the protection of minors. The age where a person is considered to be a MINOR varies from country to country and even state to state.
To break these rules is a very serious offence. I'm sure you all understand that we do not wish to do so.
In addition we must ALL give some consideration to what, under the Terms of Service, could constitute 'offensive material'. We are all aware that what may be a source of much laughter to some may be really upsetting or offensive to others.
So it is for the above reasons that we have been obliged on this open community forum to re define what is allowed.... The new title is:
