I have another grammar question. I know that there are several past tenses in Italian, as there are in English. Can someone explain how do you know when to use each one.

Ho parlato= I have read.

Is it also "I did read"?

Avevo parlato.

Is that "I had read"

When would you use "Parlai"?

kiss Thank you for your help! I am taking a class but appreciate your extra help.

Thank you for the explanation, Livio. I must have been asleep when I wrote Parlato instead of Letto for "read". Embarassed
