Greetings!
I have been busy reviwing microfilms for several weeks! I wanted to again thank the kind people here who encouraged me, provided direction and advice.
I have had no luck finding my grandmother or her siblings. Have concluded that their birth records are most likely from S Angelo Lombardi afterall. Will try to look up that film for births between 1885-1905.
My updated research:
Lorenzo Antonio and Maddalena (diLeo) Forgione adopted parents. RSF
Concetta (Fiume) (Forgione adopted name) born Dec 8,1888 arrived US Sept 20, 1902. Also used the name Jennie, and Jane. Married Joseph Dapolito (d'Apolito). I have no clue as to the origin of Fiume (name as listed on Ellis record).
Natural siblings:
Patsy (Pasquale) Fiore Born Sept 27, 1890 died May 1977 (Scranton,PA)
Arrived Oct 24 1906 (Virginia) *S Angelo Lombardi
Rocco Cerreto (Might be twins) Cannot find birth info. Abt. 1890 Arrived June 12 (Algeria 1891) lived in Rochester, Monroe County, NY from RSF
Rocco Carpino Born Feb 4 1894 died Ap 1968 in Clyde. Arrived Mar 4 1909 from S Angelo Lombardi (Sangiovanni)

Still researching
Louis Spino
Gertrude Fasano (Michel)
Tinellia Marra

If anyone has a moment to look at the ellis record for Concetta Fiume I would appreciate your opinion on the notation to the right. I cannot quite make it out. Thanks so much.
I hope to have more news to report soon.
Best Regards,
Nancy

Hi Nancy..

I am looking at Concetta's manifest now..

www.ellisisland.org/se...2782140657

It just states that she is the child of #3 (Maddalena). She is also traveling with all of Maddalena's other children. The passage was paid by the father Lorenzo who they are all going to see in New. Does that help so far?

Hi, Nancy

The annotation to the right on the manifest states "Child by 1st husband of #3" ( Maddalena Di Leo) which would seem to indicate that Maddalena was previously married to a man with the surname Fiume before marrying Lorenzo Forgione.

Thank you for confirmation. I also interpret the notation to read.. by 1st husband.
I know that I have the answer right in front of me in the copies of microfilm but I just can't put together. Still I believe that the adoptive parents of all siblings were somehow related to the natural parents.
The 1st husband doesn't make sense when Lorenzo and Maddalena (I must look for matrimony cert) have children together born from 1884-1901
Lorenzo and Maddalena family
Joseph (G Antonio) born 1884
**Concetta (my grandmother) born Dec 8, 1888 (adopted but I am not sure what yr)
Pietro (Peter) born abt 1891
Francesco born abt 1894
Jennie (Maria Vzo) born abt 1897
Flora (Felicita) born abt 1901

I even ponder the thought that Fiume was misspelled for diSimone (that is the "believed" birth name of my GM according to family story). When I hand write these names in the context of the script of the films I suppose it could be possible.
In looking at the films I have learned to assume the letter G, F, and S due to the script style handwriting. I am grasping at straws... often that gets me into trouble with assumptions.
The only diSimone (for RSF) I have found is a birth 1865 for Forgione Pasquale Luigi ..?Fernando? parents Giocintae ?sp Concetta diSimone.
I have so many snippets that do not fit.
I think that once I find GM actual birth record things will fall into place.
I have not researched my GM matrimony or possible naturalization records. She married Joseph Dapolito in Clyde NY. Her SS was on footnote as Jane Dapolito (she also used Jennie on some docs).
Take care and have a great day.
Best,
Nancy

How might I

Thanks again for taking the time to help me.
