Thank you very much for taking the time to help me. I have hit a dead end in my search.
I am looking for these individuals:
1. My great grandfather Antonio Aiello DOB Oct 2, 1870, birthplace is listed as Cosenza, Calabria. According to my grandfather, Kenneth Aiello, he traveled to the USA more than once. I think I found his ship manifest for arrival May 21, 1891 on the Belgravia.
Antonio married in the USA and had several children, only 2 of which followed the Italian naming tradition. One was named was Maria Raffaela and a boy named Ferdinando.
2. Antonio's parents- Ferdinando Aiello and Maria R (Raffaela, most likely) Genovese. I do not have birthdates. They had 5 children: Antonio, Michele, Teresa, Maria, Rachela. Antonia and Michele came to the US but the girls stayed in Italy. Antonio was a laborer/stone mason.
3. Luigi Genovese DOB approx March 1829, marriage to Maria Vescio DOB ? 1831) in approx 1845. This information was taken from the 1900 US Federal Census. They immigrated to the USA separately. Luigi came on the Italia December 20, 1882. Luigi was a grocer.
Their children: Maria Raffaela, Paolo, Quintina, Raffaela, Rusarba, Saveria, Maria Antonia
4. Maria Vescio's mother was Saveria Gallo.
The family all landed in Kansas City, Missouri, USA.
The information I was given by my family is that Luigi is my GGG grandfather. The 1900 census says he is Antonio's uncle. I don't know who is wrong or if there is more than one.
I can't find any information about these folks. I have a handwritten paper than my grandfather gave me with the names and very little of anything else. I have been using Ancestry.com. I have not gone to the LDS place yet. There is one near me. I also tried looking on 22.214.171.124/ascs_web/index.faces
with no luck.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much!
