Thank you very much for taking the time to help me. I have hit a dead end in my search.

I am looking for these individuals:
1. My great grandfather Antonio Aiello DOB Oct 2, 1870, birthplace is listed as Cosenza, Calabria. According to my grandfather, Kenneth Aiello, he traveled to the USA more than once. I think I found his ship manifest for arrival May 21, 1891 on the Belgravia.
Antonio married in the USA and had several children, only 2 of which followed the Italian naming tradition. One was named was Maria Raffaela and a boy named Ferdinando.

2. Antonio's parents- Ferdinando Aiello and Maria R (Raffaela, most likely) Genovese. I do not have birthdates. They had 5 children: Antonio, Michele, Teresa, Maria, Rachela. Antonia and Michele came to the US but the girls stayed in Italy. Antonio was a laborer/stone mason.

3. Luigi Genovese DOB approx March 1829, marriage to Maria Vescio DOB ? 1831) in approx 1845. This information was taken from the 1900 US Federal Census. They immigrated to the USA separately. Luigi came on the Italia December 20, 1882. Luigi was a grocer.
Their children: Maria Raffaela, Paolo, Quintina, Raffaela, Rusarba, Saveria, Maria Antonia

4. Maria Vescio's mother was Saveria Gallo.

The family all landed in Kansas City, Missouri, USA.

The information I was given by my family is that Luigi is my GGG grandfather. The 1900 census says he is Antonio's uncle. I don't know who is wrong or if there is more than one.

I can't find any information about these folks. I have a handwritten paper than my grandfather gave me with the names and very little of anything else. I have been using Ancestry.com. I have not gone to the LDS place yet. There is one near me. I also tried looking on 88.59.143.158/ascs_web/index.faces with no luck.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much!
Nickie

Do you have any obituaries? Unfortunately the death certificates don't list an exact birthplace except Italy. But obituaries might give you an exact town because it's extremely hard to go into Italian records blind. Here's what some of the records state:

Saveria Bevacqua, daughter of Luigi Genovese and Maria Vesci died in Buchanan County on 2/18/1945.

Paul Genova, son of Luigi Genova and Maria Vescia died in Jackson County on 10/17/1937.

Antonio Aiello, son of Ferdinando Aiello, died in Jackson County on 8/18/1940.

No, obituaries have been quite challenging. I have the death cert for Antonio. That's how I got the birthdate.

Any tips for finding obituaries?

Try this website, lots of people from jackson county who can do a lookup for you and one in Buchanan County.

www.raogk.org/

I would also try to search on

www.sos.mo.gov/archive...tificates/

This is where I found Saveria Bevacqua's and Paul's death certificate. You might be able to find some more of the siblings and maybe get lucky with a birth town or at least get more siblings' death dates. The obituaries might then list an exact town

I've been away for some time now, imagine my joy to see a post regarding the Aiello surname.....and my further interest in seeing a Maria mentioned. My great grandmother was Maria Elena Aiello....she married Carlo Pinto. I am wondering if my Maria is one of the children of Ferdinand you have mentioned. Do you have any further information on Maria?
