I received a letter for Felice Marianna Bertoli, Her Mother was Maria Taiano and her father was Camillo Bertoli... On a ship manifest it shows 3 people going to Innocenzo DiLenge, one was something Ruotola, and the rest were bertoli.. also on the census it shows relation to Innocenzo for Ruotola was Son In Law Shocked

Steven,

I know you probably posted those images before somewhere but would you mind posting the manifest you are talking about and perhaps census again? I am so curious to see them.

I use Firefox so I haven't tested this with IE. You can save that image without using MSPaint. In FF go to Tools --> Page Info --> Media
in the media window that has opened find the line containing "tif2gif.exe"
select that line to highlight it
click on the "Save As" button located in the lower part of the frame
Another window will open with the name of the file "something.exe"
rename that to "Whateveryouwant.jpg"
And you have a copy of the image of that manifest.

The process of doing this is easier than it may seem at first glance but it becomes second nature after a few times.

Hope that helps.

Ok Steven..for starters. Do you have this ww1 draft card information for Innocenzo? (I'm sorry if this has already been posted somewhere.) So I won't have to look through everything, we'll start at the beginning.

World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918
about Innocenzo Dilenge
Name: Innocenzo Dilenge
City: Manhattan
County: New York
State: New York
Birth Date: 20 Feb 1877
Race: White
Roll: 1765953
DraftBoard: 114

No point in posting the image...its not legible at all! I have never seen on this bad.

Is this his ship manifest?

Name: Innocenzo Dilenge
Arrival Date: 19 Apr 1905
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1878
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Port of Departure: Antwerp, Belgium
Ethnicity/Race-
/Nationality: Italian (South) (Italian)
Ship Name: Vaderland

Search Ship Database: View the Vaderland in the 'Passenger Ships and Images' database
Port of Arrival: New York, New York
Line: 15
Microfilm Serial: T715
Microfilm Roll: T715_561
Page Number: 109

Innocenzo Manifest

He is traveling with his cousin.

I think perhaps this manifest that you posted should read...

Ruotola ?
Bertoli , ERMINIA (I recognized this name right away)
Bertoli, August

This are her children and she has left another son behind (Eduardo) in Grassano. She is going to see her daughters husband, Innocenzo DiLenge.

So I also found the 1910 census for that...

1910 United States Federal Census
about Inocenzo Di Lenze
Name: Inocenzo Di Lenze
[Inocenzo Dilenze]
Age in 1910: 34
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1876
Birthplace: Italy
Relation to Head of House: Head
Father's Birth Place: Italy
Mother's Birth Place: Italy
Spouse's Name: Maria
Home in 1910: Manhattan Ward 17, New York, New York
Marital Status: Married
Race: White
Gender: Male
Year of Immigration: 1905
Neighbors: View others on page
Household Members:
Name Age
Inocenzo Di Lenze 34
Maria Di Lenze 29
Frank Di Lenze 9
Annunziata Di Lenze 5
Carmello Di Lenze 2
Ameinka Di Lenze 3/12
Maria Bertali 50
Armeina Bertali 18
Luiggi de Laeagna 23
Luiggi Micanoanio 26
Henry Cosamela 24

1910 Census

Now I see the confusion. Are you sure Felice's mother maiden was Maria Taiano? The census says Maria Bertoli....Could Camillo have remarried? I have seen it before where a woman whose parents die was raised by someone else and often used that surname as well.
