While Cathy and I were online trying to create signatures, we stumbled across something interesting. I tried to copy my url for my blinkie from the other forum and I immediately got a pop up. So I removed it and the pop ups also disappeared.

Of course, I had to try something different so I saved the image to my hard drive instead, scanned it for virus's and then uploaded through imageshack and I haven't had any problems.

Maybe we should be careful if we plan on using any of the image links from the other site since this could possibly happen again.

Let us know if you see anything like this again.

It didn't work..the blinkie I saved and added to my signature still seemed to cause a pop up to appear so I've totally eliminated it.

Carole and I are keeping a close watch for this type of thing and have decided that if we see anything on a post that might be causing a pop up we're going to edit the post.

I hope no one is offended by this but it was the one thing that was important to everyone when we asked what they liked and disliked about the old forum so we're going to try and and deliver here.

This is also why we're being a bit careful about which smiley pack we're going to add..we've seen it happen where the wrong "smiley pack" can bring on pop ups, etc.

We're also trying to figure out how to embed videos again..I must have one of the settings wrong but I'll try and have a look when I home to see if I can fix it.

Be patient. We're working on all this.

Oh oh..think I may know where the problem is....

I will need to go through everything again to find it. The only pop ups that seem to appear now on the forum is when someone gets a PM. This has happened to me several times and I think it happened to Carole to.

When we have time, there are a few other issues I wanted to share with you. I haven't bothered you because I know you have been busy, but I noticed something interesting a while back...

I just submitted this and I got a pop up..I wonder why it always happens on this thread only???

Just realized this..I always get a pop up when a new PM arrives...thats how I know I get one.
