Aside from Italy, did all women traveling from other countries use their maiden name? Example: Russia/Lithuania/Yugoslavia

See I am not really sure. My grandparents on my mom's side came from Yugoslavia, modern Croatia in the 1950's and 1960's, and the women always used their married name. For instance my great grandmother came here in 1954 here is her , she is Zorka Antolos but her maiden name was Cibola. That's my personal experience with it.

I am thinking of the time period 1870-1915. I know many things have changed since then but I am not sure.
