Well we have been going now for just over six months and our membership is growing steadily, it's now up to 138 so that is really good...

BUT

yes - there's always a 'but' - so here goes

Of our 138 members there are many about whom we know little or nothing? OK - I fully accept that no-one is obliged to share anything over the internet, and I can accept too that certain details should never be shared. But it would be so much nicer, and easier too, if we knew at least which country people hail from. As we are, to all intents and purposes, a 24/7 site, it is often a puzzle as to when certain members 'might' be back on line or when they might be asleep!

In addition - and I've said this before - I find it uncomfortable to reply to a post that I assumed (by a 'signature' or through not knowing any better), had come from a 'lady'

only to find that I was replying to a 250lb 'linebacker' -

So - if you haven't told us even an 'itsy bit' about yourself, do consider going to our "About Us" forum (it's the 3rd down from the top) and telling us a little bit about yourself! It really will help (us that is) to make this even more like a huge friendly family!

I agree with what you have just said. It would be good to know too if us two have been moved down the ladder a bit (age wise) Smile

It would also be nice to know where everyone lives too, especially as sometimes we get linked up to Skype. It's good to know that we're not wakening someone up in the middle of the night Embarassed

I know I've friends in NZ and the time difference is almost 12 hours so if I was 'phoning at 6 in the evening here it would only be 6 in the morning there. Shocked

Okay Carole, I have now officially introduced myself. I do agree with you we can all give it a try and while we are thinking of what we want to say how about expressing important goals for each of us in our pursuit of genealogy
