Hi,
if it's only that line, then it says: Rientrato al corpo 21 agosto 917

which means: Back to the unit (or corps) on August 21, 1917.

I'm not very familiar with military terms but your ggf was somewhere else for any reason and then he returned to his unit on said date.

Ada

Mauro,
I'm sorry. I could not open the image completely, it showed just the first line and I thought you had cut the rest. Now I could see it's more than a line. Must have been my PC with a bad connection. Ok, I will read the rest and tell you.

Ada

Well, I don't know what's wrong with the connection. Anyway, now I could see few more lines. Hope I will see the complete document, little by little.
Here is what I could read:

Recalled to the army to Barletta Military District October 22, 1915
Assigned to the ordnance depot in Padua (Padova in Italian) Nov 11, 1915
Assigned to the 36th Infantry in San Giovanni of Messina Dec 6, 1915
Left for the war in .....(looks Aclavio or Arlavio, never heard of) Zone with 6th Company, 36th Infantry Dec 10, 1915
Left to Monfalcone with the Digging Divisional Company of the same Regiment 22 Jan 1916
Left to the Front Line Territory with same Regiment Jun 2, 1916
Left from the Territory which was declared in state of war due to wound May 26, 1917
Removed from the charge of digger May 26, 1917
Hospitalized in the Camp Hospital # 004 May 27, 1917
Hospitalized in the Military Hospital in Bersano ???? Jun 2 1917
Sent on a 40 days extraordinary (unscheduled) sick leave Jul 12, 1917

Hope I can see the whole page tomorrow.

Ada

Great photo Mauro! By the looks of his military history he was a busy boy and saw a lot of action. You should post your photo on the fix it board and see if someone can clean it up a bit for you.

Thank you Billie for re-posting. I was using a wireless connection last night and my PC probably didn't like it. It was showing me only a few lines at a time and I had to login and logout to see more. This morning things are Ok and can see all images without problems.
Mauro, your ggfather was a handsome man! It looks like he had blue or grey eyes and also his hair was light brown or fair Very Happy

Here is the rest of the translation:

Back to the corps Aug 21, 1917
Obtained two months inability/unfitness Sep 3, 1917
Back to the corps and assigned to the '235th Machine-gun Reserve Company' in Ciriè (Turin) Oct 15, 1917
Transferred with the same Company to Alpignari(?)(Turin) (I think the place is Alpignano as Alpignari doesn't exist) Jan 7, 1918
Discharged Jan 10, 1919

The stamp says:
Granted declation of good behaviour and for having served with faithfulness and honor (I cannot read the last word as it's faded but I guess it's "onore").

I noticed that who wrote those records was not so familiar with Northern towns names. So I think the Military Hospital could have been in Belluno (and not Bersano/Berruno which doesn't exist). I have no idea what place is "Arlavio or Aclavio" unless it's a military term. I translated the word "zappatore" with "digger" as I assumed they were those ones preparing trenches but I found that the translation should be "sapper".

Sorry, but as said, military terms and jergo are a bit hard for me although I used a dictionary. Hope you can "tidy it up".

Ada
