Could it be "Bonanno"? The letter after the O seems to be a squeezed N...

"Bonanno" is a good candidate but there are several Ns in the document and they are all different from the one after the letter O...

Thanks for the help. As it turns out, I was going over some other birth documents after I posted the document in question and found one of a birth in 1846 in which the mother's surname appears to be Bonnano.

This is the second wife but she is not mentioned on Girolamo's death certificate; however, his first and third wives are. Confused

And even more puzzling is this earlier birth document which I am guessing is dated 1836 -- it has the first wife listed on it.

Tom, in this document the mother appears to be Caterina Provenzano... I might be wrong...

Tom, it is unreadable. Could be 1836 but also 1839, 1831 or 1832...
