WOO HOO!! Sorry I am late! Embarassed I went to my FHC with a bad headache today so I did not stay long but I did discover a 2 page listing of Irish films. Livio, do you know if they lived in the county or city of Dublin and if so do you know if it was north or south? There are so many films to check out I was hoping to narrow the field down. I will go back Tuesday in the hopes of finding you some Irish documents. I hope they have the scanner fixed by then!

I believe these are Jane Moore's parents in the 1851 Census (They are in Westminster by then, still The City of London I believe)

James Adolphus Moore 1851 Census

In 1861 we learn James is from County Cork Ireland

James Adolphus Moore 1861 Census

notice how James' son Alfred is listed as having been born in "St. Pancras" in 1836. That places the family in St. Pancras, which works well with the residence of your Jane Moore at the time of her 1846 marriage. We won't even go into the fact there is only one James Adolphus Moore in London during this period, and with a wife named Jane....

You must also remember both fathers on the marriage you posted are listed as "Gentlemen" which Carole will agree with me on I'm sure that is an indication their status in society was quite important.

Pretty compelling evidence. Also, Jane (his wife) even lists the town in Cork County Ireland she was born in.

It looks to be "Ring, County Cork" which is in the Civil Parish of Kilmacdonogh.

also I found this which is the the same couple as the 1851 & 1861 census:

Parish of Saint George, Hanover Square, County Middlesex (London)

Page 88

James Adolphus Moore married Jane Austen 26 February 1828

From The Cork Examiner, 3 December 1861
On the 26th ult., at his residence, 2, Tenterden-street,
Hanover-square, London, aged 71, James Adolphus Moore, Esq.,
R.M.A., grandson of Sir Emanuel Moore, Bart., county of Cork."

This matches exactly to the 1851 & 1861 census I posted above.

LIVIO is of The Nobility!!

James Adolphus Moore's Military Record

here is information on the Moore's of Cork:

Finally it's for certain...

Here is James Adolphus Moore, his wife Jane, AND her mother Ann Austin aged 70... living in St Pancras, Ossulstone (Holborn Division)

Your Jane is undoubtedly the 13 year old student living at Easton's Boarding School, St Pancras, Ossulstone (Holborn Division)

This would place your Jane's birth at roughly 1827/1828.

I see the husbands name and he is a corn dealer age 50, then his wife age 35, then the kids, then a womans name and then Austin.........where does it show she is the mother/mother-in-law..........I can't see it Embarassed

It doesn't say mother-in-law, but given the fact that James Adolphus Moore married Jane Austen 26 February 1828 I would say it's probably Jane's mother. (see my post above for the details)
