Possible Sicily Trip

I haven't posted in some time although I do check in daily. I may be able to make a trip to Sicily in November and was interested in any advice/suggestions/tips/warnings/etc in preparing for the trip. It has been some time since I've been abroad and the last time to Italy was in 1990 so a lot has changed, including me! The trip will probably be with a tour we have been researching and if so there is a possibility of a free day in Palermo which I believe is about 10 or so miles from Belmonte. I had hoped to visit Belmonte since it was my grandfather's birthplace but that may not be possible--so close yet so far. I'm looking forward to the responses.

Riccardo knows Sicily quite while so he may be able to offer you some advice. Jim has also traveled there a few times so maybe he can offer some insight too. I haven't been there since 1990 myself so I have no idea of what it's like anymore.

I am so excited for you though - wish I were going too!
