I've often heard Italians of all regions comment about how the dialects or even the accents that come from the Bari region are some of the most unusual sounding in Italy.
Check out this short film for a sample. What do you think?

Ok..so I understood spaghetti con rapi...yummy! And thats about it. My neighbor is from Bari and when she talks to me I have to really listen to understand her. Sometimes I need to ask her to repeat what she said a few times before I get the general idea of what she is saying.
Interesting video though....

My aunt was from Sicily and her husband was Bari. Their daughter was close with my aunt's mom (my great grandma) and understood Sicilian. When her father would speak she had no idea what he was saying! He would ask why not, and my cousin wold reply "That's not grandma's Italian!" Interesting video.

For some reason I cannot play the video - get 'Documento senza titolo - and a blank yellow screen.

My grandmother was from Catanzaro Province and my Grandfather was from Cosenza. They rarely spoke Italian in their home because they had a difficult time understanding each other!
I cannot view the link either Mauro but I would love to see it.
