I wrote this a while ago and thought it would be good to link it here for easier access. You can also check out other helpful links at:

e-lore.com/wiki/Using_Imageshack

To use Imageshack Upload Service you can try to follow these steps..I hope you find them useful. If you have any further questions feel free to post them here and we will try to answer them for you.

Keep in mind that the service may from time to time time out. Unfortunately there is nothing that I found can be done about it. If it doesn't work the first time, don't give up..we're here to help.

*Please note: I've add some links to show you how each step should look.

Step One: Save picture, image or link to your computer (I save it to my desktop). Be careful you don't violate any copy write agreements. Whenever possible, site the source. And never link directly from another website or forum...this can and has created problems in the past as it affects the bandwidth of the original site. Always save the image to computer first.

Step Two: Open a window and type www.imageshack.us into your toolbar.

Steps One and Two

Step Three: Click Browse and a pop up will appear named File Upload. Choose the document, image, etc you wish to link...it will attach in the file name bar and click Open. This window will close and the image will attach to the imageshack Browse bar.

Step Three

Step Three

Step Four: Click Host It. After a few seconds (sometimes a bit longer) you will be given a few options on how to show images. I usually choose the last option Direct link to image and copy that.

Step Four

Step Five: Paste the link in the forum, or email where you would like to show it. The link is usually short but if you want to give it a "title" such as Manifest or Click here..

Step Six: type... Click Here When you hit preview the link should look like the picture.

This is an old thread so the instructions may not work anymore - Billie did an update but I think that one is also now outdated because they changed it so many times. I do know that if you create an actual account with imageshack and save files to it it becomes visible for anyone - I know this because I found Carole's file once. Also, the links die after a while - especially if they're old (suck as this thread) or have not been clicked on for a while. Imageshack clears its cache and deletes many files like avatars. I usually upload things to my server now or link directly to the thread if possible after resizing the image so it doesn't distort the thread.

I will go through it and update the tutorial and if Billie's is still ok we'll go with that one since it's very detailed.
