I think Billie is ok..I do hear from her briefly now and again and she is redoing some work on her home so I'm sure they're busy with that.

Carnie..I haven't heard from him although I do see him sign on to skype once in a while. Truth be told, I am not online too much either lately but I do stop by and check that nothing blew up on the websites.

Ohhh..we found him.

Sorry about the parents problems. I think assisted living is very expensive, or at least it is in my area.

Glad to hear everyone seems to be OK.
I know what you mean about your parents Biff, it makes you feel a bit helpless sometimes because none of us really wants to give up our independence but sometimes it is the best option for everyone concerened. I'll keep you all in my prayers.

Nuccia hope your mum feels a bit better soon.
I'm going to get my 2nd knee replacement checked next month and I'm not looking forward to it!! Two weeks ago when I was going to sit down I missed the arm of the chair,(that was without wine etc) I didnt fall but the way I finally 'landed' in the chair I had jerked my knee and now I'm finding that knee a bit difficult to bend - not too painful though but I'm just praying I havent knocked something out of place.
Think I had better take a screwdriver with me in case I've got a few screws loose Wink Wink Wink (Maybe they will be able to tighten the ones already loose in my head Wink Wink Wink )

Take care
God Bless

Emmy xx

Emmy..you be careful! Mom's leg gave out on her once and she slipped three weeks ago. Now she has pain in her lower back, backside and leg. She also can't bend her knee as a lump as formed in back of the knee. The doctor says its her veins doing this as they are inflamed and her leg also bruised.

My brother got a bit upset with her because she loves her slippers but she fell a second time a few days later and so her wonderfully Italian leather slippers are now somewhere in the neighbours yard. He refuses to get her a new pair and fights with her because she really needs to be wearing running shoes, not slippers. Of course, new slippers keep appearing. I never knew a woman who had so many. I have taken a few pair home but I CAN'T FIND THEM ALL!

I cant stand anything on my feet especially in summer. I go bare foot..sometimes even outside, unless like today, the ground was wet so I wore crocs..which are like wearing nothing.

In winter, I wear those soft socks that you are supposed to wear for bed. They are very, very soft. Some have little rubber disks under them so you dont slip.

They say walking bare foot isnt good for you..but, I dont see how that can be the case..its natural. If we were supposed to have leather on our feet, God would have put it there.

Oh I loved walking barefoot and never had any problems with my feet. It was only AFTER I started wearing socks and slippers did I have trouble with my feet. I also firmly believe that men invented high heels to torture women because they have muchj more sensible shoes and no woman in her right mind would have invented such horrible things...although I have to admit, I never wore shoes unless they had a four inch heel. I got smarter as I got older though..

Oh..me too. I worked a stand up job in high, high heels. I am only 5 feet tall..so always wore heels. No more. I buy low ones now..although, I love looking at high heels.

Todays young girls cant even walk in the things. My granddaughter 17, wore her first heels a year ago..low..and she walked like a duck..lol I make her try on the high ones..forget it. Funny thing is..the heels almost always hurt me..but I didnt care. This kid wont wear anything that hurts..lol I guess she never heard....it hurts to be beautiful..lol

I guess you are both talking about stiletto heels. They didnt half make holes in the floor coverings, even wooden floors suffered Wink Wink Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes
Thanks Nuccia I will take care I must admit I know how your mum feels re slippers---just you wait, some day, if your family does that to you, just think how you would feel Wink Wink Wink but I know you are only thinking of your mum's safety. But as we get older we always tend to think WE know what's best (your mum and me) for us and the younger generation just dont understand us. Wink

I do know though that I do noticed a difference when I wear 'sensible' shoes that give support and I do feel safer walking with them-- but when I get back home its just soo lovely and comfortable to put on a nice cosy pair of slippers Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

So go away out and buy your mum a new 'sensible' pair of slippers to replace the ones you've thrown out because believe me if your mum is anything like me you and your brother will NEVER find things your mum wants to hide from you.. Very Happy Very Happy
Us old guys are too clever by half!! and you've still a lot to learn yet Wink Wink
