Mi sono informato e, se la fonte non sbaglia, generalmente si contavano i giorni che mancavano alle calende, non quelli trascorsi. Quindi, considerando che i giorni si consideravano tutti, compreso il giorno delle calende, la data esatta dovrebbe essere il 29 Agosto del 1832.

For Cathy,
according to Luca's source
IV Calendis Septembris MDCCCXXXII is the 4th (IV) day before the Calendae, the count includes the Calendae, therefore the date is 29 August 1832.
