Dear friends,
Modena State Archive is close due to the earthquake damages. Crying or Very sad
All the people who are interested to receive any church records
of that area, for now it is impossible, because probably most of the
church records are ruined and not saveable. Crying or Very sad
I hope it helps
bye Riccardo Crying or Very sad

Which is why its a good idea to let ancestry or the LDS copy their records to microfilm. Then..no matter what the disaster, those records are saved.

The problem is that not all the parishes let LDS copy the records. I hope for Lucia she can find more about her ancestors, maybe next year, when everything will be a littlebit better, ciao Riccardo

I ordered some records from the LDS but they are on backorder. Hopefully when things settle down I will be able to find more about my relatives Smile

Hopefully something can be salvaged - I saw pictures of the Church clock on the floor - how horrible.
