Can someone please tell me what this says? Is it junk mail?

Salve,

A Parigi, mi occupo di una biblioteca sulla storia delle famiglie italiane
www.geneaita.org/fr/

le ricerche si fanno per comune o per cognome

I know....I can't believe it! The email is in Italian but when I clicked on the link it was in French. The website is a .fr so I knew it would be but I was kind of hoping that there were different languages to click on.

Gina I have just emailed that link to my daughter in France. and then had a conversation (in English Smile ) about what the various words were this is the only thing I understood hope it helps.
When you open the link there is a blank space next to the words 'Tous les Champs' e.g. If you print in the word Cassino in that box then go down to the bottom right where it says 'Rechercher' and click on that it brings up information about various names etc about Cassino I think some of it is in Italian Confused a 'table' came up wit lots of surnames on it Maybe if you print in the name of the town you were researching you just maybe get a surprise
Oh to be able to understand other languages
Emmy

ps once you have clicked 'rechercher' -- on the next screen that comes up click on no11 Manifest.. lots of names come up here (Bruno is one of them I was thinking about Riccardo's research) the box with the word 'retour' takes you back to the previous page.

Roughly, it says hello, I have a library on the stories of Italian families. You can search by surname or commune. I don't speak French at all but you can see that there is a field for ISBN numbers which is associated with searching for books. All books have an ISBN code. It is usually near the copyright info.

I've been playing about with this site and putting in different comune names etc also if you look at the white box at the right hand side where there is the alphabet down one side if you click on the first letter of a surname you want to find then click on 'page suivante' at the bottom of this box this will take you to the next list of names beginning with this letter until you get to the surname you want then click on rechercher again and another screen will come up then if you click on 'Afficher tout' it gives you another screen with more information.
Just discovered _(effacer - delete)
'Nouvelle question' takes you back to the beginning
If you drop down the menu for 'Type de document' it seems you may be able to acces micro film etc not sure about this
Go on have some fun - I dont profess to understand one word that 's being said but I'm enjoying myself

The site belongs to the "Italian Ancestors" genealogical foundation in Paris, France. They have many databases that can be searched for free.

Livio may Be right. We have had people from all over the world read here...it looks like such a cool site. And I do understand some of tyhe French (In Canada, we are required to take French throughout school since its our second language). When I get stuck on something, I just ask Jen or Jesse to read it. Jesse takes extended French now so hes pretty good at it as is Jenny.
