Hey that's great - not one but THREE fom Liguria! I was beginning to become a
tiny bit desperate that there were no more '
northerners' around.....
Of course I realise that we probably have some members whose ancestors were from 'up here', and then there are those who married 'into' an Italian family (like me) and became adopted
Italians, but who are nevertheless
almost real Italians in their hearts.
I do think though that the fact we are all here and doing what we
are doing (or learning to do) so well does indicate a more important trend and role for "Gente di Mare" for the future. We are gradually gathering a group of people with a really wide knowledge base who are - and this is our strength in comparison to many similar sites - willing to help, but at the same time '
teach' individuals how to research successfully!

Eh questo Si che e bello – non una ma TRE dalla Liguria! Cominciavo a diventare un pochissimo preoccupato che qui non c’erano più abitante dal nord
Si che capisco che probabilmente abbiamo dei soci con delle antenati che sono da ‘qui su’, e che ci sono anche chi ha sposato per diventare Italiana ‘adottiva’ (come me), ma che sono, nonostante questo, quasi Italiani nelle loro cuore.
Penso però che il fatto che siamo qui e facciamo quello che stiamo facendo (o imparando da fare) con competenza, indica una tendenza e ruolo più importante per "Gente di Mare" nel futuro. Stiamo raccogliendo, gradualmente, un gruppo di persone con un base di cognizione vasto che sono – e questo sta per rafforzare qualsiasi comparsone con altre siti simili - disposto di aiutare e, allo stesso tempo ‘insegnare’ alle persone come si fa le loro ricerche con successo.
