Is it possible that Maria Guardia could be Maria Grazia? think think Sembra proprio di no. This might account for the "Grazia" - daughter of Giuseppe (Joseph)?

Livio - I've been having problems with the images. See if this one is better, I tried to enlarge it (not cropped). Please let me know and thank you again for all your help. And thank you to Luca too.

Hi Luca, kiss I was told that Lucia's mother's name is Distefano and her father's last name is Proietto. My cousin told me everyone usually called her by Lucia Distefano because maybe she was like her mother Domenica. I know it is odd that she used both surnames for her children. If this is Eugenio Veuero Sapienza like I think it is, why on his Registration card says his birth as Mar 6,1896? I need to go back and look for more names. Grazia,Angelo, and Dominick. Very Happy I would like to order the civil records too adventually, to get the actual ages of everyone. I had to send back the last Civil Registration film I got because the marriage documents were so hard to read. I would also like to find out Giuseppe's 1st wife's name and their children. Very Happy ~ Rita

His middle name should be Venero. I found out through my cousin who had spoken to his son Joseph. Very Happy

Rita, Venero could be correct, however the middle name is Eugenio. The entry in the Baptism act is Venero Eugenio Sapienza.

Elisabeth did send to me a new image of Eugenio's Baptism act and now I believe the name of the mother could be Lucia Boriello.

Passi la stranezza dell'alternanza Proietto-Distefano ma Boriello è un'altra cosa! A questo punto sono necessari i documenti dello Stato Civile per capire se c'era 1 solo Giuseppe Sapienza o 2 Sad

Hi Rita,

Luca is saying that to be sure about Lucia's last name you need to write to the Belpasso's Comune and ask for the Civil acts about all your ancestors....It's too strange she used Proietto/Di Stefano/Borriello as last names....
Perhaps there were two Giuseppe Di Stefano?

Thanks for the translation Laura, and I think you meant two Giuseppe Sapienza's

I agree with everyone. As I said before, you need the civil records to determine if you are looking at records of more than 1 Giuseppe's. The civil records offer more information than the baptismal records. You should be able to tell on the birth acts by the age of the father and the father's father's name.

Sad So do I write Belpasso Comune and give them All the information of the children that I have now? Does anyone know the address so I can write and give them all I have? Would they also tell me Giuseppe's 1st wife's name too? Smile
Or do you mean for me to order the Civil Registration film too to find out more about Giuseppe's children? Maybe he had a son named Giuseppe from his 1st wife. ~ Rita

I think you should order the films first and see what you can find.

I don't know if others would agree with me.

Credo che se Rita ha intenzione di richiedere le copie bisognerà aiutarla a formulare la domanda. Pensi che quello che è scritto sotto possa andare? Semmai spiegale come inoltrarla. Ciao Luca

Rita,

Luca wrote the letter you can send to the Belpasso Comune just to ask for the birth certificates of all the Sapienza's...
In this letter you're asking these documents to complete your genealogical research about your ancestors.
After the name's list Luca stated clearly that you want to know how much these certificates do cost for you, if you put your e-mail address they can tell you the amount and how to pay so you can decide if request them or not.

If you want I can send you by mail the letter in Word format so you can put your dates and send it (registered letter).

These are the phone number about the Record Office:
UFFICI DEMOGRAFICI
Dott.ssa Tomasello S. 095 7051225
Sig. Sambataro D. (Ufficio Elettorale) 095 7051229
Sig. Finocchiaro E. (Autentiche) 095 7051230
Sig.ra Marino Agata (Stato Civile) 095 7051231
Fax 095-7912840 Comune di Belpasso
So you we can address the letter to Mrs. Agata Marino and send a previous copy by fax too....

But if you know the FHC has, you can search for the same birth acts in the Civil Registrations Microfilm....
