In the Atti di Nascita the birth year appears to be 1881 but I'm not certain. Also the day of the month for the birth as well as the mother's age is difficult to read.
I am comparing the info to the following atti.

On the first: in the day 25 of August 188? (Sorry) Dragotto Stefano, age 27, states that at 7,40 p.m. of the day 23 of August was born Grazia from his wife Mazzola Giuseppa, age 22.

On the second is the same name of the first document, and i think that the Grazia born in 1878 was death infant.

Thanks Luca. I thought 23 Aug was the day of birth but I needed a second opinion.

The birth declaration was done on Aug 25, 1881
GRAZIA was born on the 23rd. Her mother, Giuseppa Mazzola, was 22, and her Father, Stefano Dragotta was 27!

The birth declaration was done on Nov 10, 1878
MARIA GRAZIA was born on the 8th. Her mother, Giuseppa Mazzola, was 22, and her Father, Stefano Dragotta was 26!

Either they are different people with same name or some one was cheating (or did not know) with the ages...

You are right Livio: it isn't the same name (Grazia and Maria Grazia) Embarassed also if it is very similar.
I think they were the same parents, but someone was confused about the ages!

I posted the images because of those discrepancies. It appears that the parents are the same but the inconsistency of ages compared to dates leaves the door open for more speculation. Perhaps women were as discreet about revealing their age as they are today Shocked

I've had the same problem on some of the birth acts re the ages of the parents. In one family the mother stayed the same age for the birth of 2 of her children and suddenly got older with the birth of the 3rd child Shocked
Wink The father just grew older 'normally' and it WAS the same family. Smile

It seems that this was quite common for parents to do this.

The ages for most of my family were wrong on all the stato documents. I saw one man who remained at the age 40 for the birth of 6 children over a period of over 10 years! Shocked The men were worse than the women - I think it was easier for youthful men to find work so they lied. I would not take the ages (or in my grandfather's town's case the professions) too seriously.

Just a small comment....
My grandparents had a problem with remembering birth dates. In particular the grandfathers. I think this is true for men even today!

I'm beginning to realise just how our ancestors perhaps made mistakes -deliberately- with their age on documents and I think perhaps I should take a leaf out of their book
I think from now on I'll consider going backwards with my age - it seems re travel insurance etc goes up in price after 70 Crying or Very sad
Re the body matching the age problem Question Question Question
any suggestions how I can turn this

into this
